In this presentation, I explain the concept of Community Care as a form of mental health support. Participants are exposed to various strategies and tools to support their loved ones in times of stress with an emphasis on anti-oppressive, culturally humble, and compassionate practices.

Entre Dos Mundos (Between Two Worlds): Surviving Assimilation as a 1.25 Generation Latine Immigrant

Through my personal story, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the assimilation process and its effects on Latine immigrants’ mental well-being.

The presentation specifically focuses on the internalization of colorism, racial microaggressions, and familism as a direct contributor of suicidal ideation among Latine immigrants. By exploring these factors, participants will gain insight into the challenges faced by this community and the importance of addressing them.

This presentation introduces participants to the concept of racial microaggressions and the harm they cause in Black and Brown individuals. Participants will explore the importance of addressing racial microaggressions and identify effective techniques for doing so.
